DESCRIPTION:Course price includes range fees. \nTWO DAY INTRODUCTION TO\nTACTICAL CARBINE AND PISTOL COURSE\nThe introduction to tactical carbine and pistol course is designed to\nsignificantly increase the skill level of any marksman utilizing a semi-\nautomatic carbine and pistol. The course will consist of approximately 1\nhour of instruction on firearm safety\, firearm operation\, and the safe and\ncorrect way to handle and operate both weapon systems on and off the\nrange. The initial instruction will be followed by 13 hours of gradually\nperplexing drills that involve a variety of shooting positions\, distances\nand speed work. These drills will primarily originate from the standing\nposition and are designed to improve both speed and accuracy. Upon\ncompletion of this course the student will have a thorough understanding\nof firearm safety\, firearm operation\, and the ability to engage multiple\ntargets with multiple shots.\nCourse Objective: The student will gain a high level of confidence in\nthe safe handling and operation of an AR-15 type rifle and pistol which\nwill in turn show substantial improvement in accuracy and speed of\ntarget engagement.\nEnabling Objectives:\n General firearms safety \n Verify safe\, loading\, unloading procedure\, and proper clearing of\nweapons\n Operation and manipulation of the AR-15 type rifle and pistol\n Sights\, zeroing considerations and techniques\, slings\, and equipment\nplacement\n Reloading and malfunction drills\n Fundamentals of rifle and Pistol marksmanship\n Shooting positions\n Multiple target engagements\nPrerequisite: A basic understanding of firearms safety and operation.\nTraining schedule: Show time is 8:30 am with instruction starting at\n9:00 am and ending at 4 pm. A one hour period is allotted for lunch.\nIndividual equipment (Student Furnished):\n Carbine with 3 magazines and sling\n Optical sight for carbine (optional\, but highly recommended)\n Pistol with 3 magazines and holster\n Belt\, LBE or protective vest\n Magazine pouches (pistol and rifle)\n Hat/Gloves\n Weapon cleaning kit (with oil for carbine)\n Eye and ear protection\n Water/food (1hr lunch break)\n Sun screen\n Rain gear\nAmmo requirements (Student Furnished): 900 rounds of rifle\, and\n800 rounds of pistol ammunition per person.\nCourse includes: 14 hours of instruction.
